FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house in the Lake District after it was struck by lightning.
The call came in at around 9.30am this morning when the occupiers of the house in Station Road, Penruddock north of Ullswater, called 999. The homeowners reported that their property had been struck by lightning during a thunderstorm.
It is understood the lightning struck solar panels on the roof of the house. The fire was out when on-call firefighters from Penrith arrived at the scene and no one was injured.
