A TREE planted by the late Diana Princess of Wales in Lakeside is still standing strong after almost 30 years.
Photos have emerged of the princess attending a ceremony at the village's YMCA in October 1990.
During her visit she planted a single whitebeam sapling in the grounds. Some 27 years later it has flourished and stands as a reminder of the time the People's Princess visited the area.
