A WINDERMERE boatman nominated as a ‘tourism superstar’ is taking to the campaign trail to help drum up public votes from across Cumbria.
Rob Beale is the only nominee in the North West to make the shortlist of VisitEngland's awards. Run by the national tourist board, the competition celebrates the dedication and passion of people working in the tourism industry.
Mr Beale started working for Windermere Lake Cruises in 2008 as a seasonal crewperson and his positive attitude and immense work ethic have helped him progress to his current role as Boatmaster and at the age of 27 is one of the youngest employees to regularly skipper the historic steamer.
