Kirkstone pass closed following serious incident involving cyclist
A cyclist has been involved in a serious incident on the Kirkstone Pass near Ambleside, with the road now closed in both directions.
Police were called to an incident on the "struggle" area of the pass at 5:45pm today (June 17) which involved a pedal cyclist.
The road has been closed in both directions, diversions are in place and motorists are asked to use the full Kirkstone Pass.
Motorists are advised to take care on the diversionary route and adapt their driving accordingly.
Other road users are being asked to avoid the area if possible and use alternative routes.
