A MOUNTAIN rescue team was called to rescue a drunk couple and their two children from a yacht on Ullswater.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team was called out by police at 1.44am in the early hours of this morning.
Members of the public had reported a domestic incident involving a couple, two children and a yacht.
The team launched the rescue boat Patrick Scotty with a crew of five and a police officer. Whilst the crew were undertaking the search the yacht was located by another police officer.
The couple had been reported to be intoxicated and were arguing following a drinking session at a local hotel.
They had two children with them and there were concerns for the youngsters' welfare.
The boat was located and the 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent in Carlisle on Monday August 14. Maryport Coastguard was also involved.
The rescue involved five volunteers and lasted two hours.
