PRINCE Charles paid a royal visit to one of the most anticipated country shows in the Lake District.

There were as many flocks of people as there were sheep as hundreds crowded to catch a glimpse of the Prince at the Westmorland Show.

Today was the first time Prince Charles had attended the show, after being invited during a previous visit to Cumbria.

There was a lot for him to take in during his brief stay, with a vast array of livestock, food, crafts and country pursuits on display.

Tim Farron, the local MP was on hand to greet the Prince, who also met farmers and exhibitors, even taking a turn at judging one of the sheep competitions.
