SNOW has fallen in Cumbria as temperatures plummet across the area.
Cumbria police have confirmed that people are having to dig their way out of thick snow in Alston.
The worst of the weather is on the Cumbria border, with motorists around the Nenthead area facing some treacherous driving conditions.
More snow has landed on Kirkstone Pass and people are being warned to be careful on high ground.
