A POPULAR agricultural show has been cancelled because of poor ground conditions.
Hawkshead Show was due to take place tomorrow (Tuesday) at Hawkshead Hall Farm from 9am.
Set to include horticultural displays, hound trails and special guests Shaun Raywood's Dog Display Team, tomorrow's event was expected to welcome hundreds of visitors.
However, organisers have said the ground conditions are "unacceptable" and they had reluctantly had to cancel the show.
In a statement posted online, they said: "Due to health and safety the committee has come to the unfortunate decision that this year's show has to be cancelled.
"It was felt that it was not fair to all competitors and spectators that the ground conditions are unacceptable. Thanks for all your support."
