A LAST Night of the Proms-themed event has raised hundreds of pounds for a community project.

Lively music filled the historic market hall in Hawkshead when the Freemasons hosted a musical evening.

The event was organised by Hawkshead Lodge member David Cole and raised more than £350 to purchase equipment for the new village health centre.

Music was provided by accomplished organist Paul Gregson.

Following the break for a buffet supper, and with song sheets to hand, everyone took part in the singing.

The evening culminated with the Prom favourites Jerusalem , Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory as everyone rose to their feet and waved their Union Jack flags.

Hawkshead Lodge master Tim Gill thanked everyone for their support.
