POLICE have launched an investigation after two men were subjected to an unprovoked assault by a group of thugs with Polish accents.
Police said the incident happened between 2am and 2.30am in the early hours of Sunday morning in Lake Road in Windermere, near to the cinema.
Two men were walking along the road when they were approached by the group, who with no prior warning, launched an attack on them.
The two victims were kicked and punched to the face, head and body.
One received severe bruising to his back and the other suffered a broken nose and damaged teeth.
