A Lake District hotel has been shortlisted for five awards for its recent marketing campaigns.

The Daffodil Hotel & Spa on Keswick Road in Grasmere, had been closed for seven months following floods caused by Storm Desmond.

The hotel partially reopened in July and the spa opened earlier this month.

During its closure and full refurbishment of the ground floor, the hotel organised a relaunch plan with complete rebrand including a new website and a social media campaign.

The “Daffodil At Home” campaign saw more than 1,000 boxes packed with Daffodil luxuries sent out to be enjoyed at home.

Both the Daffodil at Home campaign and the overall relaunch campaign have now been shortlisted in the 2016 Northern Marketing Awards in the ‘Tourism & Leisure’ and ‘Low Budget’ categories.

The campaign has also been nominated at the 2016 UK Social Media Communications Awards in the ‘Best Use of Social Media in a Crisis’ and ‘Low Budget’ categories.

The hotel has also been nominated in the 2016 CN Group Business Awards ‘Best Use of Media’ category.

Laura Wolstenholme, head of marketing and sales at The Daffodil Hotel & Spa, said: “Being shortlisted in such prestigious awards is great news for us and fantastic recognition of the marketing work carried out here at The Daffodil.

“We’ve always had a strong and very active customer following across a range of media channels so, for us, it was all about engaging with our loyal followers as well as making new audiences aware of The Daffodil.

“The last nine months have been a challenging time and we wanted to ensure we stayed at the front of everyone’s minds even whilst we were closed and we’re delighted to have achieved this.”

The Northern Marketing Awards take place on October 19 and the UK Social Media Communications Awards take place in London on November 3.

The CN Group Business Awards will be held on October 20.
