A TOWN'S parking problems has seen councillors call for action to help frustrated residents and business owners.
A report into parking in Windermere has been released by the town council, with councillors highlighting it as a common issue among residents.
Cllr Dyan Jones said: "Parking is one of the biggest issues that residents raise with us, particularly the need for affordable off-street parking for people working in the town.
"We regularly hear from residents and local businesses who are frustrated about the lack of short-term parking for those wanting to shop in Windermere and Bowness."
Local Liberal Democrat councillors are calling for a number of changes, including the introduction of disc parking for the town centre and offers at the Braithwaite Fold and Rayrigg Meadow car parks to increase use.
They also call for an "early bird" tarrif at the Broad Street car park, offering a £1 saving for those parking all day before 9am.
Cllr Andrew Jarvis said: "There is no quick fix for solving all parking issues in Windermere, but these three actions could make a real difference to both residents and visitors.
"We can't go on talking about this. We need to get these changes made."
