Family and friends of an inspirational couple and their children helped to make the dream wedding possible in the perfect setting in Newby Bridge earlier today.

Tying the knot after around six years of engagement, Jeff Holt and Gemma Moorby enjoyed a wedding to remember that was made possible by devoted friends and family at Newby Bridge Hotel today.

The newlyweds have given their thanks to those who attended the service today, and that this is also a celebration for their son, Jasper, who they know will have memories to cherish following the ceremony.

Mr Holt said: "Just everything it is perfect for us. The fact that everyone has had the opportunity to come together.

"It is as much of a celebration of Jasper and his life, and we would never have got this opportunity without the friends and family offering their services.

"It means everything to us really."

Jasper suffers from Mitochondrial Disease, but has battled the odds for around three years despite previously not being expected to live more than a few months.

Mr Holt's best man, Russ Mawson, of Barrow, said that the newlyweds were a couple that were meant to be together and that their efforts in the face of adversity has made them even stronger.

Mr Mawson said: "They are a great couple. They are one of those couples you know were meant to be together.

"They love their family and friends and they are both brilliant parents. They have both battled through difficult times and it has made them stronger.

"It has been so nice that people have come together to give them this wedding."

Friends, family and other people from the Furness region rallied together when the couple had to postpone their wedding when Jasper was born.

The army of Facebook followers to their cause meant that the venue, food and invites have been done free of charge thanks to their generosity.

Owner of All About Weddings North West, Jill Heath, helped to spearhead the campaign to bring the wedding to fruition, and said: "I can't tell you how many have been in touch about this.

"I feel very proud that I have been able to bring this wedding to the fore. I would like to thank the people of Furness who brought this together and made this happen, because without them, it would never have happened."
