SOUTH Lakes hotelier Jonathan Denby says his friendly staff are the reason why all five of his businesses have been given six coveted TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Awards (2017).

The Damson Dene in the Lyth Valley, Newby Bridge Hotel, the Riverside Hotel in Kendal and Bay Villa in Grange received an award each and Cuckoo Brow in Far Sawrey gained two.

Mr Denby said: “I'm delighted that we have been awarded six certificates of excellence with two going to Cuckoo Brow. In the last 12 months we had 555 five-star reviews and Bay Villa also has a score of 9.9 for service from Booking.com, the highest in the Lake District.

“The one thing guests consistently mention are the smiling, friendly staff who work very hard to make all our guests happy. The Lake District has become Britain's no 1 destination for holidays, according to TripAdvisor, and I'm so proud of my staff at South Lakes Hotels for their part in helping to achieve this."

Each year TripAdvisor gives Certificate of Excellence awards to hotels, B&Bs and holiday rentals that show continued excellence in hospitality. TripAdvisor reports that 75 per cent of users are more likely to choose a business with a TripAdvisor endorsement.
