HEARTLESS thieves have stolen a caravan used by first aid volunteers in the Lake District.
A brown and white caravan used as a St John's Ambulance station was taken from its location at Hodge Close Quarry, near Coniston, sometime between 3pm on Saturday, May 6 and 11am on Sunday, May 7.
It is believed the charity had used the van to offer first aid to people taking part in the annual Keswick to Barrow ultra walk - a 43-mile event that helps to raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities across the region every year.
Anyone with any information on the theft is now asked to contact Cumbria police by calling 101, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or by emailing 101@cumbria.police.uk
