FIRE crews were dispatched to deal with flames at a popular Lake District retreat yesterday evening.
Firefighters were told at 17:51pm yesterday that an outbuilding at the Lakeside Hotel near Newby Bridge on Windermere had caught fire.
Crews set up a water relay and used one hose reel jet and one covering jet to tackle the fire in the building which contained approximately six tonnes of biomass pellets.
Two firefighters had to wear breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames.
