A LURCHER who went missing in the Lake District for almost 24 hours has been found and reunited with his family.
Four-year-old Mac went missing near Dock Tarn, on the afternoon of Saturday February 10. Distraught owner Claire Stobbart made an appeal online to help bring Mac home, afraid for his safely on the bitterly cold hills of central Cumbria.
A drone search was organised in the area he was last seen, near Borrowdale.
Fortunately Mac was found safe, albeit stiff and cold near Walla Crag, around five miles north from Dock Tarn.
Miss Stobbart told The Mail: "We can't quite believe he went that far. He was handed in to the pet shop in town and they gave him some food. He's a bit stiff but he's cuddled up on his spot on the sofa now. We're so relieved."
She also thanked everyone who had supported her in getting Mac back home.
