CREWS tackled a caravan fire in Windermere in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters found a static caravan, well alight, on arrival at Rayrigg Road.

The emergency service was called out at 12.16am and crews from Windermere and Staveley were at the scene for around two hours.

Crews, wearing breathing apparatus, used two hose reel jets to cool gas cylinders before they were removed by the fire service.

The static caravan was totally destroyed by the fire.
