THE case of two of the tourist attraction bosses accused of fraudulently trying to make a financial gain following a fire at their premises has been adjourned.

The case centres around Cumbria World Limited of Moor Lane, Flookburgh, sited at the former Ducky’s Park Farm. In July last year a fire destroyed the attraction.

The company and three individuals were charged last month. Two of the accused, Michael Anthony Milner and Malcolm James Keith, were listed to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on Friday.

Milner, 48, of Field Broughton, Grange, has been charged with eight counts of fraud by false representation. All charges are in connection with fraudulent disclosures made in order to make a financial gain. He faces one count of breaching a company director’s disqualification order and bankruptcy restrictions order and one count of arson.

Keith, 44, of Somme Avenue, Flookburgh, has been charged with two counts of fraud by false representation – both charges are in connection with fraudulent disclosures made in order to make a financial gain - and one count of aiding and abetting Michael Milner to contravene a company director’s disqualification order and bankruptcy restrictions order.

A new hearing has now been listed for Friday October 6.
