AN angry man caused £200 of damage to a pub window after being denied entry.

Furness Magistrates' Court heard today (6) how Lewis Sherington, of Perth Street, Oldham, punched and smashed a window of the Stags Head Hotel, in Bowness, on August 18.

Mr Peter Kelly, prosecuting, told the court Sherington took a glass from the premises and was subsequently refused back inside. Angered, he lashed out at window, measuring 3ft by 4ft, smashing it.

Sherington, who represented himself in court said: "I regret it."

Sherington pleaded guilty to the offence, and was sentenced to pay a fine of £100, £200 compensation for the window, and £85 costs.
