A MAN convicted of groping a beauty therapist in South Cumbria will be sentenced by a judge next month.

Enrico Annunziata, 24, went on trial at Carlisle Crown Court having denied a sexual assault charge.

Yesterday, Annunziata was found guilty of the crime by jury members who reached a majority verdict of 10 to two.

During a two-day hearing, the court had heard evidence from the female victim about the incident.

This occurred in the South Lakeland area during June last year. It also emerged that Annunziata had previously appeared at the crown court and pleaded guilty to another sexual assault charge.

This followed an incident on December 26, 2014, and involved a different woman.

Upon receiving the jury's guilty verdict, Judge Tony Lancaster asked for a background report to be prepared by the probation service.

Annunziata, of Grosvenor Terrace, Bowness, is due to be sentenced for both sex offences on May 24.

In the meantime he was remanded on conditional bail, and must sign the sex offenders' register.
