Hope Millom to Barrow bus service may be given a reprieve

THE Millom to Barrow bus service could be given a reprieve.
Sorry Mr Hogg but I'm afraid you are wrong. The M7 bus service is used every day by students at both St Bernard's RC School and Barrow 6th Form College. If this service is withdrawn they will then have difficulty in getting to their places of education. Without a bus service, they would have to get the train and then a bus or a taxi - not ideal or cost effective as most of these children are not entitled to a bus pass. The M7 service also caters for BAE workers.
For other travellers, although the train offers a quicker journey, it DOES NOT RUN ON A SUNDAY. This is not a service.
Millom is so 19th century its untrue, where I live we have 21st century things like smooth roads and regular public transport, even on a Sunday. The fact of the matter is even if these services are saved, its still impossible to head north out of Millom on a Sunday unless you have your own means of transport and that is wholly unacceptable. I am so glad I don't live there anymore.

Have your say
There is no train service to Millom on a Sunday.
