Hole appears in Barrow road

A VAN driver has told how he nearly disappeared down Barrow’s biggest pot-hole.
Chris Hartley was driving along Devonshire Road, close to the entrance to Barrow Cemetery, when his van lurched into a giant hole that had appeared in the road.
Mr Hartley, owner of Hartley’s Memorials, managed to reverse his van out of the hole, then made sure he warned other drivers to keep away from the hazard.
Mr Hartley told the Evening Mail: “I drove into the hole and had to back out.
“Underneath it goes down about 20ft or so and the hole itself is maybe about 4.5ft wide. We got a little dint in the van just on the edge.
“But what I was concerned about was stopping the traffic hitting it.

What about the self made hazards like Holker street, the drivers now go down the centre to avoid the bumps, the council are aware of this but choose to leave the hazard so as not to admit thier mistake, dumb or what

Have your say
You know what Barrow council is like, they probably won't do much about it because they have 'other priorities' that don't even exist. It needs to be sorted out, Barrow kids are going to start playing round it and we'll have a kid down it soon if it foes that way...
