Cumbria Police has issued a health warning after drugs were stolen from a pharmacy in South Cumbria.
Police have received a report of a burglary at Gibson Pharmacy in Flookburgh, which is understood to taken place overnight from Tuesday into yesterday morning (Wednesday).
A number of medication boxes were stolen which were believed to contain the painkillers codeine and dihydrocodeine.
People are warned that an overdose of such medication could lead to damage to internal organs. Anyone who has or has potentially consumed an overdose of this medication is urged to seek medical attention straight away.
Officers are continuing to investigate the break-in and are urging anyone with information to call 101 quoting incident number 48 of 9 November 2016.
