PUPILS will benefit from a £2,000 charity donation towards adventurous and expressive arts activities.
Grange CE Primary School has received the generous donation from the Michelle Jurd Memorial Trust.
The charity was founded in memory of Michelle Jurd, a former RAF helicopter navigator of Grange, who died in 2009.
The former RAF officer died following a road crash.
Mrs Jurd made the most of the time she had and MJMT raises money to raise the expectations of local children. Over the past six years young people from Grange have had the chance to canoe, climb, experience high ropes, open water swimming, orienteering and many other activities, as well as taking part in theatre performances, trying wood carving and felt making, all thanks to the hard work of the trustees, committee and other volunteers who arrange and attend the fundraising events. The trust also donates the money raised to military charities in the UK and other local schools.
Grange pupils welcomed Neil Jurd, Mrs Jurd's husband, to school to say a huge thank you for the generous donation towards their activities.
