A GRANGE woman was "relieved" when she was stopped by police more than double the drink drive limit, a court heard.

Emma Louise Bradshaw, 46, of Beech Road, was caught with 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 25 microgrammes.

She was stopped by police on the A591 in Kendal on October 1 after driving "erratically".

Mr Andy Gallagher, defending, said: "She was relieved when she was stopped. She can't explain her actions.

"She'd been on a night out and had intended on leaving her car, but can't recall getting in it."

Bradshaw was fined £180 and disqualified from driving for 20 months. She was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30.
