A young boy from Grange is recovering after a serious illness forced him to be airlifted by emergency services.
Paramedics of the North West Ambulance Service were called to the Cark area on Saturday, February 13.
The 7-year-old child, who was unwell due to a medical condition, was being transported by ground ambulance when his condition suddenly deteriorated.
A Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) unit from The Pride of Cumbria team, based near Penrith, was called to the scene at around 2pm.
An Aircrew Doctor and Paramedics at the scene assessed and treated the child before he was anaesthetised and flown to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
Upon arrival at the hospital he was reported to be in a stable condition.
