ARMED police were deployed to Lindale after a man claimed to be in possession of a firearm.
Police were called at 12.53pm yesterday to a property in the village following reports of a 50-year-old man acting aggressively and saying he was armed with a weapon.
Cumbria Constabulary confirmed armed officers were deployed to the scene as a precaution.
A man from Lindale was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill.
A search was undertaken and no firearm matching the description was located.
It is not believed that there was any danger to members of the public.
