THE A590 has reopened fully at Lindale after a cattle lorry overturned and closed the road for more than five hours.
The bypass was closed from after 11am following an incident involving a wagon containing cows.
Cumbria Police said the driver had been transported to Furness General Hospital.
A vet was called to the scene and some of the injured cows had to be destroyed.
The road was closed between the A592 and the B5271.
