VANDALS have wrecked three greens at a historic county championship golf course, leaving hundreds of pounds worth of damage in their trail.
Wally by name Wally by nature!
Wally. I was raised on Walney but have 'served' in the UK and overseas for nearly 20 yrs; but Walney is home. One of the best sights when coming home (especially from somewhere hot and dusty) is the fantastic view along Central Drive of the sun setting over the golf course. I couldn't agree more with the comments left by 'Mitch'. Wherever I move to, I always make sure my kids join a golf club. Even if I couldn't afford to join myself. It teaches respect, rules, politeness, inclusion, sportsmanship, dedication....and is fun. Now, not necessarily you; but the 'sort' of person who leaves comments like you have, need to 'do the maths' (I'll break it down to 'round numbers' to help you, an an analogy you may be familiar with)....kids membership £50 (a year), that's about one scratchcard a week; your membership...£10 a week, that's about 2 pints and 10 fags...not elitist by any means...just alien to those who like to think the world owes them... I bet you laughed when Chetwynd School nearly closed ?..come on Wally, you're a 'closet golfer' too afraid to 'come out'...

Have your say
Are you sure it wasn't just caused by hailstones.
