Gable end falls from Barrow house in high winds

A GABLE end has fallen from a house in Barrow as high winds continue to batter the town.

Hundreds of bricks have fallen onto the roof of an extension at the house in Greengate Street.

The area has been cordoned off and police and fire services are in attendance.

It comes as weather experts predict a powerful storm will hit Cumbria this evening.

A red warning has been issued by the Met Office.

Reports say winds of up to 100mph could hit the Irish sea

Fire service in action following 2 serious house fires. Tomorrow CCC are voting to cut Barrow down to 1 engine and close Dalton, it will be a disaster for this area.
