Farm burgled near Millom

RURAL residents have been warned to be on their guard after the latest in a string of burglaries – this time near Millom.

Thieves forced their way in to an outbuilding on a farm in the Whicham Valley, near Millom, sometime betweeen February 24 and 25.

Police said a Stihl 14-inch blade chainsaw was taken, along with some other items.

Police have urged residents to be extra vigilant due to the increasing number of sneak in thefts and burglaries across Cumbria.

Anyone with information, or who witnessed any suspicious activity, is asked to contact Cumbria police on 101.
