Fallen Barrow Christmas tree to be replaced next week

A Christmas tree which has fallen down in Barrow will not be replaced until next week due to the storm.

Barrow Borough Council has announced that it is not safe to go into the forest to chop a new tree this week.

The Christmas tree in Duke Street was knocked over during gale-force winds yesterday.

Have your say

I think they should leave it down it looks like the lights etc have just been thrown up anyway doesnt look good for the town compared to dalton and ulverston decorations.

Well done evening mail for another pointless "News" story.

I don't know why they are bothering to replace the tree anyway the last one was horrible. The wind did it some justice.

Cheers for wasting our council tax
