Easter egg roll at Barrow park

HUNDREDS of children enjoyed an Easter eggstravaganza yesterday.

Youngsters from Barrow, Ulverston and Millom rounded off their Easter celebrations with a mass egg roll just down from the Cenotaph in Barrow Park.

Nearly 500 children from Action for Children’s Newbarns, Greengate, Hindpool, Ormsgill, Bram Longstaffe, Ulverston, Walney and Millom Children’s Centres took part in the eggciting event.

The children launched decorated eggs down the hill in exchange for a chocolate Easter egg at the bottom.

Dave Morrison, centre manager at Action for Children in Barrow said: “The event has been running for a number of years now but this year was bigger than ever.

“It was a great day and gave families the chance to spend some quality time together and enjoy the outdoors as well as keeping an Easter tradition alive.

“We’d like to say thank you to Barrow Borough Council, Tesco and Asda for supporting us and Trinity Church for kindly donating some of our Easter eggs.”
