Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to visit Barrow shipyard

BARROW’S shipyard is set for a royal visit next month.
William and Kate will visit BAE Systems’ Barrow base on April 5.
During the visit the couple are set to see the offices of the Vanguard replacement programme, known as Successor, along with the main fabrication and construction facilities the New Assembly Shop and Devonshire Dock Hall, where the Astute class is under construction.
The Duke and Duchess will meet the crew of Artful, who are now based in Barrow, and their families.
South Cumbria will receive two royal visits this month.
Tomorrow Kate visits Cub Scouts at Great Tower, in Windermere, while Prince Charles will visit Kirkby Lonsdale next week to tour shops and meet residents and traders.
Last year Prince Andrew visited businesses in Barrow and Ulverston - which was the last royal visit to the area.
This will be the couple’s first royal visit to Barrow.
