Euro misery for England - slideshow from Dalton pub The Golden Ball Inn

FOOTBALL fans in Furness were put through an emotional rollercoaster last night as England yet again crashed out of a major tournament on penalties.

The team’s penalty curse appeared set to lift when Wayne Rooney brought patrons at Dalton’s The Golden Ball Inn to their feet by capitalising on a miss by Ricardo Montolivo to give the Three Lions a 2-1 lead.
