A TRIO of burglars from Liverpool are today due to be sentenced after breaking into a number of BT telephone exchanges across the UK.
Craig Denson, Thomas Pugh and Anthony Warriner will today appear at Preston Crown Court to be sentenced after breaking into a number of telephone exchanges between 2013 and 2014.
They broke into a number of exchanges over a period of time, including locations in Dalton and Newby Bridge.
It is understood the three Liverpool men are former employees of a sub-contractor used by BT. Items stolen from the exchanges include batteries containing lead.
An application is also due to be heard to attempt to recoup some of the approximately £80,000 generated by the sale of the stolen batteries.
Denson, 23, of Paignton Close, Liverpool; Pugh, 25, of Bowring Park Road, Liverpool; and Warriner, 27, of Johnson Avenue, Prescot; had pleaded not guilty at an appearance at Furness Magistrates' Court in Barrow but have been convicted after a trial.
