AN annual memorial event is set to raise money for charity with the inclusion of a second-hand school uniform sale.
The Balloons to Heaven event gives relatives and friends the opportunity to take part in a collective memorial service.
Due to take place at the Newton Inn in Dalton from 10am on Saturday August 5, this year's event will feature a second-hand school uniform sale, with hundreds already signed up to take part and donate.
The sale will feature items from reception year until Year 11 for all schools in Barrow, Dalton and Ulverston as well as brownies and beavers.
The event will also include entertainment, refreshments and other fundraising stalls.
The local charities which have been selected to benefit from funds raised at this year's event are St Mary's Hospice, the North West Air Ambulance and Barrow Community Kitchen.
Anyone who would like to donate items for the school uniform sale can drop them off at the following: Newton pub in Dalton; Shell petrol station in Abbey Road, Barrow. Alternatively, contact Angela on 07398 983306.
