A WOMAN on crutches has been assaulted outside a Dalton pub prompting a police investigation.

Around 8pm on Saturday August 19, a female victim using crutches was assaulted near the Horse and Jockey Pub in Ulverston Road.

The victim was not injured during the incident but was described by a police spokesman as being left "severely shaken."

Police are looking for a male suspect aged between 20 and 25 years old in relation to the alleged assault. He is described as white, of medium build, 5ft 6in tall, wearing a black hooded top, black shorts, wearing glasses, and with a large tattoo on his leg.

The man is believed to have spoken to members of the public outside the Horse and Jockey leading up to the alleged assault.

Police say the suspect was with another man who was wearing a grey top, however, the second man is not wanted in relation to this incident.
