FIREFIGHTERS from Barrow and Ulverston were called to Dalton after a horse box was deliberately set on fire.
The crews were tasked to a plot of land in St Helen's off Askam Road/Romney Park in Dalton at around 9pm last night after a passer-by spotted the blaze.
On arrival, firefighters discovered a horse box, which was empty, had been deliberately set on fire and was well alight. The fire was extinguished within around 20 minutes.
A group of youths are believed to have been seen in the area at the time. Police are investigating a number of photographs handed in to officers which are alleged to show individuals at the scene.
Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
