A DALTON man was taken to hospital after receiving a serious hand injury following a collision near Marton.
The silver 2011 Vauxhall Zafira being driven by a 27-year-old man from Dalton was hit by a dark-coloured, possibly blue Renault Clio last night before 7pm in Marton.
After the collision, the two male occupants of the Renault got out of their vehicle and attempted to assault the driver of the other car with a knife.
He sustained a serious hand injury and was treated at Furness General Hospital.
The two occupants of the Clio are described as tall and aged in their early to mid 20s.
The Clio sustained significant damage to the front, driver-side of the vehicle.
