A MAN has been fined £500 after being caught more than double the legal limit.
Steven Paterson, 27, of Lindal Street, Barrow, admitted one charge of drink driving when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court on February 21.
He was caught by police on Broughton Road, Dalton, on February 3 with 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Paterson was banned from driving for 20 months. He was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £50.
