A MOTORIST who was stabbed in the hand after a blue Renault Clio deliberately shunted into his car has called for members of the public to help trace his attackers.

Kyle Greenway was driving his girlfriend's silver 2011 Vauxhall Zafira in the Marton area on Monday evening when the attack happened.

The Dalton dad was driving up Snipe Gill to a spot to take his five dogs for a walk when he saw a blue Renault Clio coming round the corner and down the hill towards him.

The Clio crashed into Mr Greenway's car before the two male occupants got out of the car. One of them pulled a knife and stabbed him in the hand.

The two men then got back in their car and fled the scene, leaving Mr Greenway in the road with a bleeding hand.

Fortunately for Mr Greenway and his family, one of his young daughters wasn't in the car at the time, as she would normally be.

After reporting the incident to police, he was taken to Furness General Hospital where he received stitches to his hand.

The two men are described as being aged in their early to mid-20s, tall, wearing grey jogging bottoms and black hooded tops. Both were described as slim and "scruffy".

The Renault Clio is understood to have sustained damage to the front, driver's side during the collision.

Mr Greenway, who works in construction, and his fiancee Kirsty Jepson, have called on members of the public to help in identifying his attackers.

Anyone who believes they know the two men responsible or the owner of the Clio is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
