A 25-YEAR-OLD Dalton man accused of assault and acting violently towards police officers is due to appear in court.

Kristian Robert Jones, of Fell Croft, Dalton, allegedly assaulted Christopher Roper on November 26 in Barrow.

He has also been charged with behaving in a violent and aggressive manner at Barrow police station after being arrested.

The defendant allegedly pulled police officer's ear devices and damaged a handcuff key while in custody on November 27.

Jones, who must not enter Hotel Imperial in Cornwallis Street, Barrow, as a pre-hearing condition, will appear before Furness Magistrates' Court on January 3, 2017.
