AN innovative designer who specialises in making quirky allergy-friendly accessories has re-launched her brand following the birth of her baby daughter.

Danielle Aspinwall, 36, created Yapper Chappers designs shortly after she began experimenting and making her own jewellery five years ago.

The Blackpool native who lives in Dalton was inspired to create her own unique pieces after struggling to find jewellery which did not make her allergies flare up.

After taking a break to have her second child Sadie, in February, the mum-of-two sprung back into action just two weeks ago and has big plans for her business.

She said: "After having my children I got the art bug back.

"I love making the pieces I think it's very therapeutic.

"I've got sensitive ears so I started making a lot of accessories and chains.

"I used to buy aluminium wires and and pieces all the time and that got me into it.

"I want to set up my own shop and find local places to showcase my work."

The Union Street resident is currently searching for a new design space so she can create more custom pieces and prides herself on offering one-off, vintage-style goods made from leather, aluminium and nickle-free materials which are kinder on sensitive skin.

"I'm busy making pieces for Dickensian Festival and I am hoping I can fit this all around my children.

"My parents worked in hotels and they were always there to come to school shows and I want that for my kids," she added.

Former arts student, Mrs Aspinwall first moved to the area from her native Blackpool two years ago with husband Martin who plays for Barrow Raiders.

She has recently completed several courses ran by the Chamber of Commerce and attended last weekend's Christmas fair, Dock the Halls at the Dock museum- her first event this year.
