CARNIVAL fever will hit the streets of Dalton this weekend.

Dalton Carnival is back on Saturday - and to celebrate we have dug deep into the Evening Mail archives to find some photos from the event over the years.

Today we bring you some 80s and 90s nostalgia from Dalton parades of the past.

The ancient capital of Furness knows how to put on a great carnival day as seen in this photo collection.

Remember carnival day 1989? That day the carnival queen was Nicola Tomlinson and her ladies in waiting were Tracy Morrison and Lisa Mackereth. Or are you a face in the crowd during the 1992 carnival day ?

Maybe you you were one of the young clown dancers with Sue's School of Dancing in 1992?

Do you, a family member or a friend feature in our nostalgia gallery today? If you do let us know through the Evening Mail Facebook page and website. Tell us what your favorite carnival memories are.

The Dalton Carnival parade starts in Prince Street at 1pm with dance troupes and floats winding their way through the town. It leads to Dowdales School, where there is a gala and dancing competitions on the field. There is also entertainment and family fun at the gala, which is open from 10am.
