CHRISTMAS trees are being offered to homeowners for as little as £10 in a bid to light up the streets prior to a town's festive switch-on event.
Residents living in Ulverston Road, Market Street and Skelgate in Dalton can buy a six-foot tree off the town council which they can put in their gardens prior to the big switch-on on Sunday December 4.
Unlike in previous years the trees cannot be offered for free due to budget constraints but a 70 per cent reduction in price is being offered to encourage people in Dalton to take up this offer with the agreement that they decorate it in time for the switch-on.
You can get your Christmas tree by returning the slip sent to your home with £10 attached to the Town Hall in Station Road by Friday November 18.
It's hoped that the trees will be ready to collect from the Town Hall by Wednesday November 23. For further details please contact Dalton Town Hall on 01229 464000.
