AN air ambulance, community first responders and paramedics were called to Dowdales School in Dalton.
Emergency services were called to the Dalton secondary school at lunchtime yesterday. A female pupil was later taken to Furness General Hospital by road ambulance.
In a post on the school's Facebook page, staff said: "The safety of our students is always our number one priority and obviously where students are concerned we err on the side of caution.
"An ambulance was called at lunchtime today and the paramedics made the decision to have an air ambulance in attendance.
"The student concerned was finally taken by road to Furness General Hospital.
"Thank you to everyone for your support both directly and for your good wishes for the student concerned."
