Cumbria gardeners to go gold and mark 50 years of Britain in Bloom

KEEN gardeners across South Cumbria are being encouraged to grow golden flowers to celebrate 50 years of Britain in Bloom.

The Royal Horticultural Society will be offering free mixed sunflower seeds to all registered Bloom, It’s Your Neighbourhood, and RHS affiliated societies this spring to mark the golden anniversary.

Free ‘Growing for Gold’ seed packs are available on a first-come, first-served basis to all groups.

In 2013, Windermere received the RHS Britain in Bloom Silver Gilt Medal.

To claim a seed pack, visit www.surveymonkey.com/s/SZY2LB9 to fill out a form.
