Cumbria council staff set for big move

HUNDREDS of Cumbria County Council staff are getting ready for a big move to new offices in Barrow.

Around 200 county council staff based at Market Street, the Nan Tait Centre and Priory Grove in Barrow are due to move into their new premises at Craven House throughout May.

The move is part of council’s Better Places for Work programme.

Cllr David Southward, Cumbria County Council’s Cabinet Member for Property, said: “Market Street and Priory Grove have not been fit for purpose for a number of years and the buildings were in need of costly repairs.

“The space available at Craven House means that our teams will be able to work in a modern, flexible, open plan office environment which is fantastic.”
